Lets review this topic in terms of work(s). Would you rather invent your own job or find one? Well, I guess it all depends on the person and whether you strive in structured or none structured environments.

Typically inventions require working in none structured environments (with some experience in structured) where things flow freely and need attention on-demand. Where in structured environments you have preexisting operations, manuals and run-time schedules where it would normally be considered easier operate in; but in my opinion not, because there are too many limitations.

I believe that living life is a lot like playing a guitar. Eddy Van Halen was one asked if he ever took formal guitar lessons, and he said “No, that’s why I do all this crazy stuff. You only have 12 notes, do what you want with them”. And so he erupted!

I’m not saying that you have to go out there and drop everything while you try to do something crazy new. Just that there is nothing wrong with doing something inventive for yourself and if it will help improve the way you live and even perhaps in addition to someone-else as well. So once in a while when you are playing along it wont hurt to improvise just a little bit, after all it’s just 12 notes!
